Do any fully functional PC-150/200s exists?

...pictures from the database 2.0

I've seen mentions in the forum of non functioning EQs on these two models. The two examples of PC-200s I've run across BOTH also have equalizers that do absolutely nothing. Now I see a PC-150 is currently on Ebay with a dead EQ also.AMAZING!Has anyone here ever experienced a 150 or 200 with a working equalizer?I'm beginning to think they were just made that way. It's distressing as these boxes have a lot of power/volume yet are deficient in bass.I would love to find one with a working EQ to see what a bass boost would do for the sound.

Talk about memory lane.

One of my buddies had that exact same box. Probably still does someplace.

Jovie,

I have a PC200 that is pretty minty expect for a few small scratches. The EQ works great. The woofers on mine however, have VERY stiff suspensions. As such, they will go ear-piercing loud with NO BASS. Frown I have listened to the center unit connected to good 4 ohm studio monitors and it sounds wonderful (and the EQ does what you'd expect it to). I plan on replacing the woofers at some future point in time, so I can stand to listen to it. This is one bbx I don't mind modding because the stock woofers are just wrong! Mad Amplifier has some serious power at about 15-18 watts RMS per side (into 4 ohms). That's M90 territory. Smile

I suspect my woofer problem is not unique and affects other units as well using the same woofer. Move up the bass slider and with the stock speakers there is NOTHING to hear!

Looking at the picture above again...

I might have to dig out the PC200. It is currently in the closet (with Ricky Martin). Laugh Out Loud

Now I remember why I bought it--GREAT looking boombox. Needs more LEDs tho...
