Things happens, i won´t believe!

Today a friend called me and said, he would buy a new boombox (with CD). I can have the old ELTA one for free. Only the hook of the right tapedoor is broken, so the door stands open.
Ok, no problem of course - i will take it!

The only problem is, he´s gay.

No problem for me, he is a good friend and it won´t disturbe me.
The problem was the box!

The condition is quiet nice, everything works.

But there are 2 problems:

1. It´s too modern for collecting
2. The colour is....

I´ve never seen such ugly thing before.
It hurts in the eyes!

I have no issues whatsoever with someones choice of sexuality , but that box , I just cannot accept.

Plus, I doubt VERY seriously that it comes remotely close to the 380 watts listed.

I do think the colour is not the problem, but

Yes, the upper comments are right.
He is one of my best friends, no problem at all with him. And i find it very nice, that he thought about me as Blaster-Collector, before he throw it away!
The Box is the problem!

I would never put this -Box in my collection.
But i saved it, before scrapping.

The reason?
I will change it.

That's the one of the ugliest electronic disasters I've ever seen. Not two, but four, fake piezo tweeters! Fake 10-band Eq! Clunky knob and switches! Yuck!! The only thing of interest here is the foam surround on the woofers.

We have two gay men (couple with a house) a few blocks away. They are big as football players and drive large black pick-up trucks. They wouldn't be caught DEAD with this boombox!!

So, I don't think gay has anything to do with it. Take your friend out to a hardware store and buy him some power tools.

Gay, Straight, or Bi, we are all people, precious people I might add, with the same quest. I am curios, though, as to how it sounds, more so than how it looks. The speakers appear to indicate some bass, and although the "380 watt" moniker is more than likely a gimmick,I'd be interested in hearing the sound that represents it. So how does it sound?
