One of my two twins.......fixed and 100%

kittmaster - 2009-01-12 20:21

Just got this baby going, after spending 6 months repairing appleknockers version of this, I blew through this is about 4 hours. Rebuilt the cassette deck parts and new belts, cleaned it up inside, sprayed sliders.....she is 100%....well worth all the hype. Hope to have her twin up and running and will post them both up....Smile

Enjoy

It really didn't need parts added, just broken ones repaired. It was also missing the eject bar slide fastener, but I had another, so it really was about just getting it to work right out of the gate. Luckily, the rest of the radio was fully functional, but I was ready for that since appleknockers box was a complete basketcase and I had to repair every major block inside from the preamps, amps, all radio bands, active gain section, and tape decks........6 MONTHS of nothing but THAT radio.......... Laugh Out Loud

Made mine a breeze to work on.... Nod Yes

Its funny, I've already had a request if I decide to sell, to give them first dibs..........and because of their status here, if that ever happens, that person WILL get first dibs...Smile

I'm very happy with it.

Hopefully fatdog can come through with a fix I need for my second box. Still have to go through that before posting it up.

God I love that radio. Beautiful work Kittmaster, if any radio is worth spending 6 months on getting her 100% then it's that Toshiba.

It's on my shortlist of must-haves.

Enjoy her hombre!

Rock On.

Great news Kitt, and good to know we have a resident Wireless Tosh expert (in addition to all your other areas of expertise). I have been too scared to use mine fully so far as apparently there is a possibility that the deck can get jammed up if I don't hit the FF/REW/PLAY keys in the right order.

Looking forward to your twin shots.

The deck is really simple, most likely you just have to grease the cam gears as the old grease will not allow the pull gear to release. Regrease it and put a new belt, you should be good to go. Box is easy to get in and out of. Just have to take care to ensure the door is OPEN before you try to remove the front, everything resides in the rear cover, front is what pulls off!

Hey I think we are about due for an up to date collection pic from you as you have scooped up quite a few since the last.

kittmaster - 2009-01-13 18:32

TA!!! How the hell are ya buddy.....Smile

Glad to see you back!

It is very well built, but a nightmare to fix. But I have two of them now....LOL

I'll have to do a collection update, I'm working on my Big Ben now, so it'll be a bit, but I'll get something up there.

I think since I've added:

2 tosh wireless
1 unisef
1 big ben
1 conion c100F (total 2 now)
1 Sansui CP-99W (total 2 now)
1 HK9000
1 HK9000 Clone (CEC606?)
1 Lasonic 935

Hopefully have them ready for press soon
