TRC-931 for sale in NZ

weylandyutani - 2009-03-13 22:11

A guy wants 845 nz dollars for a trc 931 that has a couple of faults [missing switches].He says this is the original release. Can you tell from the pic if it is??? He also claims that they sell in the states usually for 4 to 500 U.S dollars. I think i might have pissed him off by mentioning my 150 dollar purchase of my TRC-935 a few weeks ago. OH WELL maybe that might work in my favour hahaha

Cripes, thats a lot of deniro!

It's not the original one, the VU LED meter is on the right hand side of the tuner dial on the original model and it's not the 'runway' style. This is the second or third revision I think, from my limited knowledge.

Looks nice condition.. but no amount of nice makes for an $845 TRC-931. I doubt anyone in NZ will be happy to pay that, and the postage (and high asking price) means no one in the US will be interested as you could buy 3 or 4 of them for that total amount on US ebay.

When it gets no bids make him a low offer. Sounds like he needs to be knocked down a peg.

Good luck brother!

Absoloutely rockin to meet you Nige! I'm confident you'll be able to score that lovely radio for a reasonable price, she definitely deserves to keep your 935 company.

Good luck Nige, keep us well informed!

Yeah, that's the 2nd edition TRC-931. Here's a picture of the 1st edition:

The 3rd edition is the one with the round edges similar in look to the i931. Wink

While it's true that they sell for the prices he claims (when the economy was good), he also has to take in consideration that those boxes were in better shape than the one he's sellin' (also looks like the handle is warped in that pic)... $200 is a great price as long as most of the box is in good working order. Nod Yes

Thanks mono thats all the Info I need!!!!

weylandyutani - 2009-03-17 00:26

Well I offered 200 bucks to no avail he said he would rather keep it than sell it for that and still insists its a 1st generation 931.. Oh well I tried....

Ahh shame Nige, it'll turn up again I'm sure. He knows you want it too, so he may come to his senses later on.

For the sake of completeness, isn't there another 931 of the original design MONO posted, but with a single antenna?

I thought there was, but maybe the other one was just broken off on the one I saw.

Oh My GOD this guy after I gave him some advice stating that for $845 for this damaged TRC931 it would need to be perfect and probably with its original box and manuals,he tells me that in the states such a perfect 931 would sell for between 1700 and 2300 US dollars.... hahahahahahahahahahaha .
