I'm thinking JVC, maybe a PCX-#### model but that's about as far as I can get.

billpc55 - 2009-03-26 11:58

i d k.

viennasound - 2009-03-26 12:12

Hyper bass does it own! Nod Yes

One more pic:

It´s no egg, it´s oldskool looking Nod Yes
But with features like a modern box.

The label is unknown in the base! Roll Eyes
Maybe exist the box there as aka?

So, i´m going to bed now.
Hope to find some ideas tomorrow. Big Grin

jij
super woofer

kid.sensation - 2009-03-26 12:25

really looks like one of the 80/90's JVC hyperbass-models. (PCX / PC-V / PC-R and what else they're called )

viennasound - 2009-03-26 22:11

If i would know how a JVC hyperbass is looking... Confused Roll Eyes

Ok, more help:

The shape is like a TOSHIBA 3D.
The decks are at the place where the woofer used to be.
Under the decks is no woofer, there is a "G-HORN"! Red Face
The CD is a toploader.
The frequency is very overlength. You can receive TV-channels and some other strange stations.
Everything works softtouch and over remote control (if i had one...).
Never seen an oldskool box before, loaded with so many features.
And the quality tastes very good.
The sound is impressive too. Wink

hmmm interesting.
the only boombox i owned with ghorn on it was a jvc px100 i think it was cant remember for sure. gave it to my grandfather a while back.
mine was branded as a victor tho.
the led on the volume knob was similar to that. the one i had had tv sound to that i thought was kind of strange to have on a boombox but i have seen others that had it.
i wonder if it is some kind of other branded jvc boombox. i dont know what else it could be unless it is a chinese counterfiet look alike which could very well be as well.

viennasound - 2009-03-26 23:18

Perfect, bill!
It´s a VICTOR! Nod Yes

This time it make´s some troubles, but i hope i can bring it back to fully life:

At AC it does´nt work. But at batteries

Radio and both tapes are working great.
CD not

I don´t know what means G-Horn?
You can feel the air blowing out, when working. Red Face

A unique machine, no question. Roll Eyes

billpc55 - 2009-03-26 23:23

yeah thats the boombox i gave to my grandparents well there is a couple differences the g horn silk screening isnt on the one i gave away.
i am pretty sure the g horn is some kind of subwoofer system i think it could be powered but i dont know for sure.
this boombox sounds pretty decent for what it is. i didnt care for it too much.
it is made by jvc . i dont know if this ever made it to north america as a jvc tho.
mine was a japanese model made to work on one hundred volts but i just used it on 110 volts. it sounded fine when i did it and i didnt really care much if it blew up beacause mine came from the side of the road. literally.

Ouch! Eek
Just seen, the plug of the powercable is looking different as a euro-connection. It´s more quadratic. At the first plug in it made a little flash inside. Maybe it´s also a 110V model? Confused
Must look...

Ok, there exists better sounding and looking units, but for the features it´s king. Wink
2 softtouch autoreverser are quiet rare, also including CD. And the extanded waveband...

I like it. Wink

billpc55 - 2009-03-27 08:22

yeah i dont worry to much about tenvolts.
i mean if it blows up it blows up. i have yet to kill or hurt anything from doing it.
even some of the synths i have had are marked 100volts.
we only have 110 here and well honestly i have never lived in a place where i got 110 from all the outlets. almost all of them have had between 90-120 volts. so i while i would not say go and do it for me i dont really worry about it.

i did think that boombox was pretty nifty,i didnt give it back to the curb or another thrift store.
my granparents use it quite a bit still.
