I've heard horror stories of people getting Chinese sourced 777's and others and not getting what they were promised. Horror stories of broken decks, dirt and dust, broken plastic and broken hearts. =(

Whereas not all deals coming out of China are garbage like every transaction do be on guard and make sure you'll be getting adequate in misrepresented item claims and money refunding.

Good luck man in the search for a 777.

I saw a few North American based 777's on the Bay today in the neighborhood of $330-450.

no--
wait.....

As well as what's been reported above, that packing picture puts me off.
If packed like that, I'd consider myself lucky if a b-box survived a trip from China unscathed...

Last sale I have seen from this seller. Conion C-100F
VERY minty looking sold for 1,2000 with shipping.
It arrived like this

I bought it off the guy who won it , for 250.00
and restored it.

I ask you this
1. Are you willing to take the gamble???
2. Are you good with Bondo and paint???
This particular seller was banned when he started stiring up trouble here.

I took a gamble once and got lucky

I spent a good part of an afternoon cleaning what appeared to be soot out of every nook and cranny of this box. it was nasty but it cleaned up really good.
Different seller from china.

WOW Frank that C100 is mangled ! That would crush me ! I want one so bad and if it showed up like that I'm not sure could bring myself to continue looking ? I also want another 777 and look at those overseas auctions all the time

I think I'll continue to look Smile

Hey is that the one you had for sale not long ago ? Did it ever sell ? Did I mention how bad I want one (The C100) Smile

transamguy1977 - 2008-08-19 09:48

I couldnt bring myself to sell it after i finished it.
It was like I gave birth to it.
I sold my other.

the one I sold is the lower one.

Where were you then??? It went for under 500.00

smokinendo - 2008-08-19 13:15

I know it sounds unreasonable but I only had $425 in my account and I gave it all I had and lost Frown I guess I just have to keep looking and hope the financial time is right

Stealer job on the resto

jimski - 2008-08-19 13:30

Its a gamble

thafuzz - 2008-08-19 15:20

Not sure where you are in the world (for shipping purposes), but the featured packing won't be enough to safeguard it from smashes like that T/A's Conion. In all fairness, this seller DOES have nice radios- but........

monolithic - 2008-08-19 17:18

You better think about it... and then think about it again 'cause everything that was said about that seller is true.
If you do decide to roll the dice, I hope you don't crap out. Wink

If you were in the uk and could collect you could have mine for free but youre not (please dont ask me to post i cant) it was the biggest waste of £450 i ever spent i dont like even looking at the peice of crap.

Interesting... I just checked out his eBay store and it seems all he sells now - for the most part - are cameras and PDA's which are small items that can't be easily smashed in transit from China... I remember when that dude had all those radios many months ago.

I hope his packing job has improved since then 'cause that's a now stock photo he took to prove to us that he can pack a box better than he did that Conion.

Confusion indeed... I wasn't responding to your post. You just happened to post your reply before I double-posted. Big Grin

Never pack a box with materials that wont absorb inpact.
Hard styrofaom is a big no no!!!
You might as well use nothing at all and you will have the same odds if it arriving destroyed. Nod Yes

Yes & it's still not good enough to survive the trip from China. No bubblewrap at all & no double box? Run a mile...

I got my GF-777 from China - although from a different seller. It arrived as advertised - fully working - except there was no FM stereo. But rather clean and both tape decks and Line-in working. FM stereo works now as well. I agree with others - it's a gamble. I wasn't so lucky when I got my National RX-7000 from Hong Kong - it must've been dropped more than once on its way to Texas - never worked as advertised - and now it's completely dead
