I recently acquired a set of Sennheiser HD250 Linears (cost new: £100-£150):

Discarded by the previous owner (my dad) because the earpads had gone manky. 10 minutes on the internet yesterday & a new pair of pads arrive this morning. After a cleanup last night (my dad is a smoker), I now have them plugged into my GF777, listening to an old Gary Numan tape.
They sound fantastic. The decks on the GF777 aren't half bad you know...

That's what I love about Sennheiser's, most parts are available and even if something isn't - you can usually use something off a different model completely successfully. Ive swapped cables, speakers and even the ear muffs from basic vinyl covered ones to luxury velour types!

yeh, I'm swapping the headphone cable from my HD50s 'cos they have a 3.5mm jack... for ultimate iPod listening
