a.k.a. registry listing example

tpr - 2009-06-02 05:17

there are 4.868 boxes registered as aka boxes .
4.204 are registered in 1.553 aka lists.
in alphabetic order -1st of each list.

So each listed box has got about a.k.a`s
(average) :-D

minimum aka:2
maximum aka:more than 2 dozen

tpr - 2009-06-02 05:28

now -what does this mean?

this means
I created a cross reference list with nearly all existing aka boxes in

1)alphabetic order
2)quantity order

The cross reference results for each box in the aka listings are including all appearing brands/manufacturer/trademark-names .

I don't understand, how can a box have more than one AKA? ..Do you mean like National/Panasonic and Philips/Magnavox?

regards
OSS

tpr - 2009-06-02 05:48

a box could have more than two dozen aka`s Wink

as you can see , examples in the list above:

i.e.:
the cyberex-unkn does only have 2 more:
the embassy-em9406 and
the general sound-gs1016

the helix hx4500(list no.17) does have 9 more aka`s,
kapsch
lincon
midland
noblex
samsung
triumph
universum(2)
westinghouse

What does this mean?
I know that in the case of Philips Magnavox, one company bought out the other company. but in the case of several alias' does this mean they just bought each other's blue prints?

yo-complicated.
we`ve got manufacturers,brands and trademarks.

the manufacturer could be the same as the trademark or brand ,but that MUST not be.
Several manufacturers sold licences to other factories with own trademarks or brands.

Eu law declaration: the manufacturer IS actually the brand.(independent from the manufacturing origin!)They created this law to have a responsible company for law liabilities.

that means:if you get a SIEMENS boombox ,the manufacturer IS literaly SIEMENS(by law definition.
On the other hand:most SIEMENS boomboxes are manufactured/built by SANYO ... Wink

So if I see a box that I've never seen before, and I see that it is an Aiwa, and I say to myself, "Get it Scott! Aiwa always sound good."
That might not acually be so?
as well as if I see an unknown {to me} brand and pass it up because I don't recognize the name, I could be passing up a Panasonic or a JVC quality box?
does quality even have anything to do with the legal manufacturer?

yes,
But from the big players did not appear so many aka`s.

Nevertheless,here`s
big player aka statistic rate:
frequency of aka-occurrence(cumulative percentage)

(always included IP-boxes(included identically produced under AIWA -logo):

1.)aiwa:

67/335

2.)jvc:

4/305

3.)sharp:

91/458

4.)grundig:

10/153

5.)sony:

12/601

6.)toshiba:

55/303

7.)sanyo:---(they`ve got more)

205/676

tpr - 2009-06-02 08:44

to clarify the IP("Identically Produced" description) the tpr 950
has got the same housing like the tpr820,
same cassette drive,asf....

differences:950 with four,820 with two band reception only.
