battery life question

x9moto - 2008-12-27 16:15

hi there, just took my kaboom out tonight on batteries and i struggled to get 2 hours out of it and this was at low volume "12" and bass 1 and sound "clear" with acs on listening to cd, did not skip tracks just let it play untill the "dc off" message came up and it switched off.

how long do you guys get out of your bbxs on battery and what do you use, i use uniross rechargeable 1700mah ni-cd and also 2200mah ni-mh its about the same with both.

thanks Smile

The Kaboom is a battery hog,no doubt about it. Roll Eyes

if its cold outside batteries last way less than if its warm.

Actually thats about right for a 2200 mah battery and a blaster like that.
But 2200 mah is a low rating for a rechargable D-cell.
A good D-cell can be 10,000 mah or more.
.
If you use non rechargables try some cheap lead-carbon battries, Alkaline are not that good for high power demands. And they might last the same as Alkaline at high power levels.
.
Ones there dead take them out and they go in the garbage or they might leak.

My C-100 lasts 2-2.5hrs straight with NEW Duracell batteries...sometimes even less...after that they are dead Frown

yeah thanks for the replys i have been looking at batteries with higher rating but them 10000 ones are like £10 each, thats like £100 for 10 and i bet my charger wont charge them either so thats another £40. i am suprised about the cheap batteries being good for high power i always thought it would be the other way round i might have to try that Smile

this JVC kaboom DC accessory combined with a small external 12v gel cell --will give you alot more 'mileage'
