Does anyone know what the 838's years of production were? When were the first ones, and the last ones?

And can anyone tell me, how does the sound compare to the JVC RC-656?

the w-mkII version might have been tin the sales program another 3 years.

I have both and love both but i love my Jvc 838 MORE! Doesn't mean it's better or not better,it's just me,and i love the 838. It's in my top 5 favs ,and of ALL my Bbx's it gets the most attention and playtime. I use it just about everyday,!
