What Toshiba is this?

baby.boomer - 2008-12-08 06:34

Bought this Rising SRC-3535 a few weeks ago. Once I got it, it was obvious that it was actually a rebadged small Toshiba (same overall style, same build, same tape keys, same sound). Anybody know which one?

Unique about this box are the blue speaker grilles and (in place of a balance control) separate left and right volume knobs. A "starter" box, for sure, but a fun one.

Thanks a million, Jens, for so much great information, and for posting so many aka's! Big Grin Big Grin Now I feel really lucky I found the Rising!

Looks like it's not a Toshiba, after all. It sure looks/feels/sounds like a small Toshiba... but, come to think of it, all the antennas on my small Toshibas (including the Kenwood and Akai aka's) have white tips. These units all seem to have red/orange tips.

Someday (not now!!) I guess I'll just have to take it apart and look inside to know for sure who made it. Hmmmmm.

Thanks again, Jens. You da man!!! Wink

Yes, very nice one.
I like the colour of yours.
Interesting is the different look between the labels. Smile
