i931 and trc 931 swap

stbnyc - 2008-12-01 09:16

heeeeeey how about stripping down the i931 and hook up the trc 931 with i931's parts?... i dont know about the other parts of the i931 but would it be a good idea to swap those woofers and tweeters? i could be wrong because size may be slightly different. i havent measured yet.

The woofers are the same size. The i931 tweeters are smaller than the ones in the TRC-931 but sound better in my opinion. Wink If I remember correctly, they also handle more power.

sounds like a interesting plan. i think it would be cooler tho to maybe head on down to the electronics store and maybe find some parts and see what kinds of mods you could do without having to strip a box.
i dunno i think there is a fair amount of car audio stuff out there for next to nothing now. some of it could probably be used to mod the hell out of a old boombox.

ive went to stores that sells audio stuff the speakers/woofers that are the same size as the trc boomboxes, but with more wattage like 300W .. i didnt buy it because of that.. dont you need a better amp to power up a 300W woofer? isnt it bad to put a 300w woofer on a 20, 30, or a 40 watt boombox?

The speakers in the TRC-975 are no different than the ones in the TRC-931.
