Just bought a JVC-RCM70JW...

...and I have questions:

1) What can I expect from this bbx? I know some of you have them, what do you think? Is the tuner very good? Cassette? Max volume? Bass/Treble?

2) In what year(s) was it available?

3) Does anyone have a "parts bbx" in case I need parts for it?

4) Love the appearance of this bbx--so classic (OK that's not a question)!

Its my favorite JVC......and almost now my favorite boombox...ever!

The RC-M70 is a great all around classic. You'll love it...... Nod Yes Big Grin

This is just a follow-up...

Received my M70 and it's like time stopped on this bbx. It is almost out-of-the-box new looking. In fact, it even SMELLS NEW when the amps warm up!

I love the looks and the sound (it seems to have decent bass even at lower volumes). It even followed me (carefully) outside this weekend for a little yard work. You should have seen the neighbors stare. Cool But, mostly this bbx will live on its living room display shelf.

I consider myself VERY lucky to have found one in this condition. I'd post pics, but it looks just like any other M70.

Now I need a minty M90 to keep it company! Anyone have a spare? Big Grin

I doubt it, they're like hen's teeth.

I wonder how many M90s JVC sold back in the early 80s? I was very young then, so boomboxes of any sort weren't on my immediate radar. Certainly no one I knew had one (that I remember). I don't even remember seeing M90s in electronics stores. Same could be said for the GF-777. I guess maybe we weren't rich enough...

And, of course the rich kids didn't appreciate the "holy grails" when they owned them. Frown

I waited a while to get a nice M70, I might have to wait longer to get a M90. Who knows, sometimes people need money and are willing to sell a few things...

I for one was one of them, when you're 19 yrs. old and had a good job you didn't care, you just wanted the next boombox. Now I appreciate them because of the history behind them and I was part of that era which I cherish so much! Nod Yes

I probably shouldn't have made such a blanket comment on "rich kids..."

Any money I earned when 16-19yrs had to go for college. My a** would still be tanned if I had spent it on a "radio." Eek

Ford93 is that you in the avatar pic? If so, you look very proud of the M90!

Indeed I was that M-90 was the celebrity of the park I used to hang out which is the one on the picture. I just hope she's at a good home!
