Backpack Ghettoblaster - JVC RS WP-1

hifitom - 2008-11-23 02:06

Jow!

After a long search I found one - the JVC Backpack Ghettoblaster! Probably made for the techno-generation this thing wasn't in production that long, so it was hard work to organize one. For shure a coming classic!

Great sounding unit, lot's of bass, splash resistant, anti-schock-protection for the CD-player, good synthesizer-tuner, full-logic-tape and remote for all funktions. What do you need more?

Only problem I got is that the backpack-band is not fixed right. Who can help me to get this right???

Thanks - TOM

i have to admit when it was being blown out at radioshack a couple years back it was tempting unfortunately it did not fit around my shoulders. maybe fortunately.
i think its neat tho. very james bond.

I saw someone walking around with one of them downtown.
Dident sound too good to me, maybe he dident have it set properly.

You know that normaly I collect Hifi-Ghettoblasters, the best sounding units.

For shure this one isn't a part of my collection, but when I bought my first JVC RV-B99 a few years ago I also had the choice to buy this one. It was almost expensive as the kaboom, but at this time I just liked the sound and not how it looks like.

I never would go shopping with this thing on my back - it's just a gag, and a rare unit with a good sound. That was the reason for me to buy it.

The sound is realy good - not as powerful as the Kaboom, but it realy pumps the bass. I like it ...

Best wishes
TOM

Got one, and agree with everything you've said about it, Tom. Except that it looks like a giant, winged penis... not exactly what I'd wear on my back. But as a novelty thumper, it can't be beat! (Well, actually it can, if you beat it and beat it...)

Would be interesting to wear, while i drive my Vespa!

So, who's it gonna be???
Which one of you are gonna strap it on and post some pics? I really want to see what it looks like! Cool

I want to see how big (or small) this thing is? is it comfortable to wear? Does it get hot when your seriously jamin'? How many batteries does it take and how long do they last, etc!

i think i would be more concerned with someone wanting to do violence to me if i was walking around with this in some of the nieghborhoods here.
