Yes, I've 'Rekindled' a bond with my Hitachi TRK-8080W. I rotated the collection and had a play with the 8080. I love the thing! Big Grin

CoolStuff Boys!
Here's one i got out tonite,i totally forgot about this bbx. It was in the spare room and prob has not been played with for close to a year. Crown CSC 938-F
I really love My other crowns(850 and 950)
Decided to take this little brother out today and put it thru it's paces, for a medium sized box, this box really jams,Fm no comp to the bigger brother crowns but actually sw seemed BETTER on this smaller one. Gonna jam some Bruce in the cass see if she handles that! Wink

i try to use a different boombox every few days or so. i have noticed some of them have deteriorated in the last couple of years. sometimes i think it must be the caps getting dry. some of them seem to come back a little when you use them for a while. than again it could just be wishful thinking. Smile
i do think using them is the best thing you can do with them.

I Agree wth use them in 20 years we will be deaf so it will take more than a boombox to get through.

Ya, I also try to do weekly rotations - although it's easier in my case - I have less than 15 boxes Smile

i might be deaf in less time than that. Frown i only have one ear to begin with and my ear i do have has taken a beating from playing music for the last ten years live.
i dont have that constant whistle sound yet but i am getting there.

billpc55 - 2008-11-24 22:30

also i think there is some people with boxes put aways who are going to pull them out to use them in another five years and they are not going to work.
caps dry up and things stop working.
