Nice Saisho bbx at work

retro.addict - 2008-07-08 04:39

Yep, that's right. It's a twin deck slim-line box with a 3-band equalizer. I love Saisho's, and have a Saisho home Stereo system with twin cassette decks, an equalizer/amplifier section, CD player and vinyl record player. I like the cheap-tastic black plastic, light weight, '80s graphic covered appearance of 1980s Saisho Stereos. I have to have this slim-line box! I'm going to try to persuade the manager to part with it for a replacement radio. I don't know the model number, I'll have a look when I get back. I've been playing it all morning. Can someone who has the 'base please do me a big favour and try to post pics and model numbers of all the Saisho bbx's in there? Smile Thankyou kindly... Big Grin Wink

*TPR*, thanks ever so much! Cool

We've run out of work to do for today (too many staff) and I've finished early. Big Grin I had a look at the model number on the box. It's the T404. It's on the list. Smile

It has a good sound, not extremely bassy as you'd expect from such small speakers, but still not bad. It sounds very full, loads of midrange and treble. I was quite surprised actually. Cool

I may get it in the next few days... Smile

The Saisho name (the UK store Dixons' own brand) was sellotaped onto some truly minging b-boxes & walkmen, but there was some stuff that was pretty good.
I'm still searching for the Saisho version of one of these (my brother had one):

Don't know the model number, but the search continues...

That looks great, Paul! My Saisho home Stereo has the same sort of LED meters, but all red on mine. It looks class!! Big Grin

TPR, I know of two models which aren't in the 'base. I have a P929 (3-piece), and I've seen a PT550 (looked like the P626), which I stupidly walked away from when I was in a mess space-wise. Mad

That`s a screen shot from the old base.
Yes I`ve got a couple more -they will be in the reloaded version.
Maybe you`ve got some I don`t have... Wink Big Grin

Y'know, he came home with it & I thought "oh no, a Saisho". However, the glitzy, graphic-laden look & the fake EQ sliders (that's only a 5 band) disguise a pretty good sounding & loud b-box. It's got Dolby, a tuning indicator, stereo wide & loads more.
Gawd help me, I really want one...

^ See, looks can be deceptive. And so can names, apparently. Smile

Good luck with your search for that long lost Saisho! Cool

I've asked about swapping the box over and I'm not allowed to. Head Office has sent it for staff to listen to, but it's not had a special test done on it and it can't be sold or taken away by anyone. So I can't have it. Frown F**king regulations!! Mad

I might not need to go that far now, a PAT tester (PAT stands for Portable Appliance Testing) is coming to the shop on Monday to check the everything in there for electrical safety, including the radio. Once it's been tested, I should be able to take it away! Cool
