Mono Grundig

aza - 2008-11-19 03:27

Picked this one up at the markets on the weekend, Grundig C 200 de luxe, bet you cant guess how much it was Wink

the guy said it was free because it didnt work, well it works now !

I really like how all the cassette controls, including opening the cassette door are on the one controller. For those that havent seen this design before you need to push and hold the controller switch left or right while in the stop position for ff or rw.

Thanks for having a look

WOW, Eek I like that old strange mono.
Its look like a new, and the controls is really rare.
Keep well that radio, is very nice. Nod Yes

I love stuff from the days when fads & fashions didn't get a look in. Pure function. There's no frequency modulation chart on this sucker.

Thanks toni, i definately see the appeal in a nice looking mono. I have a few now.

I agree agent, very straight forward and yet still looks great i believe.
I wonder what special option made this one the de luxe model ? Perhaps the ability to record ?

This one came out in 1967
was also available in "wood"-shaped housing:

Thanks Jens for the info and links to the pictures, its great to see that some of these players survive in such good condition after all these years.
I think i like the black and chrome look but would be excited to find the matching woodgrain one someday.

ao - 2008-11-19 04:54

De-Lux means you had a window in which to see the moving cassette. No, deluxe was the adition of wider slots in the grills. No, wait, it must be the record. I love the record functions button, level meter & record volume controls all contained in the silver coloured trim.

I just noticed from your post and Jens pic that mine has a seperate adjustable record level, but im going to go with the wider slots in the grills.

Wohoo, nice to see such Grundig again! Eek
I found the same ~5years ago at the dump.
It was in bad condition and at this time i was´nt collecting.
So i parted it out and throw it away... Frown
(Mine was the woodie)

But i own a second "one-knob" Mono Grundig. Smile
This ConcertBoy is in my wreck storage.
Radio works, tape non.
@Jens: If not in base, let me know.
Then i will take a better photo. Wink

tpr - 2008-11-19 08:59

yes it`s in the base and I just added your picture (picture number 70027!) Big Grin

viennasound - 2008-11-19 10:21

Ok, perfect! Big Grin
But this moment i took 3 new photos, i show it simply here. Wink

Nice are the frequency memory sliders at the scale! Razz

Look at the 2 little sliding doors at the back!
Left side is a storage for the powercable.
Right the connectors for aerials, speaker and trafo.

And it owns the fully frequency range till 108Mhz! Wink
