Panasonic RX-DT75 question

ronster - 2009-01-28 05:23

I've acquired an RX-DT75 and can't work out how to get it to play through the aux input (to plug in an ipod) - haven't got a manual or the remote - anyone know how to do this? I'm probably overlooking something simple but there are a lot of buttons!

I think the button is on the remote. Not for sure if there's a button on the box itself.

How's she sound?

I've seen two cases where the aux worked when you plug the cable and the source was on radio.
That was in one JVC and a National Panasonic.
Both radios didn't have a real aux position at the source selector switch. You need to put them on "Radio", and when you hock the plug, the radio is disabled and the signal is taken from the aux connectors.
I don't know how the DT75 is
Are you sure that it isn't like the 680 ? ... where de RCA are outputs and not inputs.
That's to hock an external recorder.
In that case, you can use this output like an input, but you need the CD running (otherwise, the internal circuitry mutes this line).
I used a computer CD to keep the CD running, without audio. As long as the CD is playing the audio path isn't muted so can be driven trough the RCA output.
But quality isn't the best, altough no audio is played, the CD player amps put some noise that would be added to the signal you are feeding trough the RCA output.

Worth a try, sometimes they have the parts you order.

Go to www.partstore.com then look up this part #:

RAK-RX118WH

Edit 1/31, fixed the URL.

Thanks for the replies guys - I tried the input in various modes but no luck - looks like the aux select button is on the remote only - how annoying! I may see if I can get a remote - maybe these will turn up on the 'bay - you never know...

Seems like epic design gaffe to not make switching inputs possible without the remote.

Anyhoo, check that website. If they have it in stock, it's CHEAP.

Thanks for that link PF - does seem pretty cheap - I'll probably get one of these.
