UK import tax on BBXs from US?

fuzzyduck - 2008-06-25 13:52

Have any of the UK members who have bought BBXs from the US had to pay import tax on them?
If so, how much was it? Roll Eyes

I have had to pay upto £80 fuzzy.

The only way to avoid this im afraid is to get the parcel marked as gift and whateaver you do don't insure the box because the tax is mainly based on how much the box is insured 4 im afraid if the box get's trashed there is nothing you can do but insurance is a scam anyway because they make it so difficult to claim, if they can riggle out of it they will plus you would have to send the box back. i have had about 10 boxes from abroad and done it this way and paid no tax most of the boxes arrived fine apart from my wx1, the speaker cones got trashed but luckily i had replacments. good luck with whateaver it is you are hoping to get girl. You're welcome amanda the first ever box i received cost the going price of an m90 and i think the tax was about £120 totally crazy but i have only ever been charged twice reasons mentioned above my latest being the 880 no tax and with skippys exelent packing you could have bounced it to the moon and back, the guy is sound in my book Smile .

What realy pisses me off is i can't sell boxes because of the size limatations our ****ty post office has, also they dont offer tracking on airmail as vladi found out. Roll Eyes Leaving

Hey Tim, have you ever tried to mail a box using UPS, FedEx, or DHL? I'd bet that they don't have size restrictions. Smile
