the extreme awesome telefunken studio

redbenjoe - 2008-02-12 21:58

so many members , including me , have praised the sound, looks and build quality of this model --

yet - a dozen or so have come up on ebay very recently - all at good prices - and we never see any members buying them -
or even putting up a low bid --

so...any guesses about this mystery ?

That's a shame!

Buy this box - you never would be disappointed. It's the best sounding box that was ever build!

Best wishes
TOM

not really my cup of tea , hence me not buying one.

masterblaster84 - 2008-02-13 12:37

I have watched a few of both the model 1's with the FM band only going up to 104 and the 1M's. I didn't want the model 1 because of the shortened FM band and the 1M's all had some issues and or missing parts so I passed on them. I would like to find one but I've bought enough problems recently and I would like to find a complete and functional 1M with nothing more than minor wear and tear. I know it may take a long time or maybe I'll never find one but I have to many projects as it is. Smile

I wouldn't go as far as to say that. However, I'll admit that lookin' at that box doesn't inspire excitement. It's a very boring lookin' box.

Repair is one answer, the shortened FM band is the other. hifitom and I did a swap and that's how I got mine, but I can't tell you how it sounds yet. I wanted one because of it's uniqueness. And for what I heard it sounded like. I actually thought the silver face looked better at first. The one I have has the brushed metal brown face and it looks good! I think photos make it look plastic like and that's why some my think it's blah. And where else will you find a tuner that goes to 104mHz only? Big Grin

What's the speaker size on these? The woofers look rather small to crank out the amount of bass people state. I'd prefer a Silver (brushed Aluminum) one. They look VERY quality. Never heard one before.

Yeah, repairing is a nightmare!!!!! You CANNOT get inside to fix it, it is worse than a maze!!!!

If you have one, it will sound just GREAT... but you DO NOT WANT IT TO BREAK DOWN!!!!!!!! Unfix-able!
