haha Ned, right on, ugly but good.

designer of this piece is not deeply into classic blasters - no doubt, this thing has no it's "own face", but don't forget it's a prototype, remember those ugly car prototypes on the roads, covered with stuff.
prototype of the hitachi 8190 much more uglier, so lets' hope...

they have put a lot into it: proper VU's, proper grills, tweeters, two antennas, probably proper solid handle, etc, good try, very good (!), but the cabinet is too "bare" a lot of empty spaces, and the woofers are too small for those grills, all they need to do is a more detailed, elegant cabinet with those nice bits, c'mon TEAC guys do the right thing Smile

Wish these boxes didn't all give the ipod such prominent placement. Stick a tape deck in there (even a dummy deck with glitzy Teac reels) and I'll snap it up.

...or at least make it compatible with a range of mp3 players. Apple have a reputation of being exclusionary as evidenced by their no one else is gonna use our (proprietary) jack in, and over the top greedy (check their prices on all their branded accessories). I don't know why Teac would want to limit the marketability of their new product, which is what they'll be doing, if this new bbx product is geared only to the iPod. Regardless of whether or not another type of mp3 player could be hooked up via line in, in my opinion, that would defeat the purpose...it should be docked properly.

These companies should stop talking and start production, bring it back especially the M-90!
