nevone - 2011-04-05 08:18

this is awesome. i will think about making the same conversion. Would a 6 (or bigger) inch LCD have fit too?

davebush - 2011-04-05 11:45

i dont think a 6 inch one will fit nevone....unless you chop some plastic away from the original mounting pegs.........

here`s the box with the TV turned on......pic 2 shows the 2 remote pickups for the screen and the freewiew box

driptip - 2011-04-05 12:19

i noticed the topof the screen seems to have a 1/2 inch of empty space, is that correct?.

davebush - 2011-04-05 12:35

Davebush this is really a very good job, you really need the know how and the skills to perform such a mod, i know that eventually you will figure out how to fix the screen problem,

by the way what brand is that tv, from what i can see in the screen.
it has really nice colors.

davebush - 2011-04-05 23:55

DT....the screen is only a cheapy.....kingavon i think.....check out the top pictures....

If you Could incorporate the tuner from a ATSC LCD tv then this would be up todate and imagine if you took this to a known area that only had digital transmission for ( Telly programming ) available and You could watch your Present day television and Still be able to play your Cassette's - Then this would be Really something to see and Hear

thebeardedlady - 2011-08-09 09:37

That is really impressive.  Good job!

Which part of the conversion was the most difficult?

davebush - 2011-08-09 10:12

probably retro fitting the screen and mounting it....there`s not a lot of room in there now.....its tighter than a @#1$

pioneer - 2011-08-09 14:59

Alot if time and effort dave but the finished prouct make's up for it and on the plus side it work's.Imagination is key cause when we we put our mind to it anything is possible...............Job well done !

davebush - 2011-08-09 23:42
