my latest find from hot cali

driptip - 2011-05-10 20:48

hey gang, been a while since i posted anyfinds, but this past weekend i found a very nice sanyo m9990,  tape hardly moves but is very nice cosmetics, so thats a plus, radio works very nice but i noticed that the antenna is very necessary on this model, because with out antenna radio wont tune in any stations properly, have you guys notice this in your 9990's

unlike other models the radio dont really  need antenna to tune in and sound loud.

Congrats Drip...chances are your tuner is on the way out...remember it's at least 30 yrs old...nice score my friend...

driptip - 2011-05-14 20:25

i decided to take a pic of some of my sanyos, including the one i just got.

pic is a bit dark,  next time ill get a better one.

i also would like to ask if anyone here knows how line in works on the 9990 model.

i have tryed  every possible way but no luck, hope some one here can help me out.

Nice pics buddy. I always liked the Sanyo line. Those are pretty old and I am liking the chrome knobs on the new one. Thats rare.

driptip - 2011-05-14 20:49

hey Ash26 nice to see you here again, and yes the one with the chrome knobs is the 9990K it also have the short wave bands AND line in, the regular 9990 only have AM/FM and line in ofcourse but whats weird is, i have not been able to make the line in work,

this model does not have a specific switch for it.

i am afraid is going to be one of those funky weird settings for line in.

andyboombox - 2011-05-16 02:24

great pics dt-these higher end sanyos are unbeatable-i mean, theyre not all massive dimensionally, but they pack a sound that is hard beaten by anything else.....even boxes much bigger than them........the m9990 is one of their best, for sure.....great sound, deep pumping bass and equally as good highs.if only my deck worked on my m9990but theres no way im going inside that baby, its my favourite!and its great to see you have a couple of them dt

driptip - 2011-05-16 22:09

thanks andyboombox, yes these 9990's are great , i believe these where made in the late 70's (78-79)  hope to get one of them fullly working soon.

teamstress - 2011-05-19 16:52

You need to have Rec. pressed for the line in to work. It's one of those kind.

driptip - 2011-05-19 21:15

thanks for the info teamstress, ill check that tomorrow.
