Hello  i need help here. I recently bough a jvc pc-x500 and when i tried it i notice that the 3 d hyper bass does not have a bass sound  at all when i turn it on, i own a pcv88  and in comparison to the pcx500   The pcv88 has a very nice 3d bass sound. I check at the location of the bass at both of them  and i noticed the the pcx500 does not  have a hollow hole where the sound of the bass supose to come from in comparison to the hollow hole of the pcv 88 which is very noticeable. Is it because the pcx500 is of lower rank or is the bass sound busted and i need to fix it. The reason for this is becouse im about to get a pcx300 and im not sure if it is goin to have the same issue.
Any thoughts on this matter outhere? Thanks. Love the site

all i know is when jvc announced these they offered 2 different types of bass system-super bass horn and hyper bass-ive had examples of both and the super bass horn is crap compared to the hyper bass versions-but yours, and not getting out any bass?????all i can say is take the back off and have a look whats going on in there-it might just have a build up of crap and rubbish in there blocking something-youd be surprised what crap ive taken out of boxes before!!!!

agreed.

There were two versions from JVC in this era:

Hyper Bass Sound = left & right speakers & a third, amplified ASW (acoustic super woofer) hidden in the main unit, with a port usually at the bottom front centre.

eg: PC-V2

Super Bass Horn = left & right speakers only, each with some sort of bass reflex loading/tuning (to improve low end output) either in each speaker box for a 3pc, or within the whole unit in a 1pc boomer.

eg: PC-W150

Your pc-x500 is labelled "Hyper Bass" & it also has a Hyper Bass switch so it'll be the amplified version. Unfortunately, that means it's not working. Hopefully it's just the switch. Does the red "3D" light come on?

Thanks for your replies. Isolator42; Yes the light does comes on and that is why of my concern because every time i turn the switch on the light turns on but i hear no bass ar all. Do i will open it and check to see if ther is crap inside or if the switch is damage thanks a bunch to both of you. I will be posting as soon as im done checking your guy's advises. Love the site.

no probs at all.thats what we are here forcoincidentally ive just picked up a pc-v77 in a grotty and abused condition, ive had to re wire both woofers and fit a new arial, give it a good clean etc but i believe my hyper bass speaker has problems too-it craps out after 3 or 4 on the volume-but heres the wierdest thing-it does it intermittantly!so for mine i think its just dirt and rubbish in the switches so will have a look inside it.....never really been a follower of these boxes but i can honestly say i do like this one
