ghettoman - 2011-10-05 15:31

andyboombox - 2011-10-06 06:44

its about as tiny as the mind of the man who put it on there.....ebay.......its screwed boombox collecting at sensible prices up.

sega - 2011-10-06 10:46

He who offers 50p on the best offer will be granted Legendary status

litfan - 2011-10-07 11:32

Sorry, but, these sound very poor. It`s twin, the sony cfs-f40, knocks it for six.

bison - 2011-10-07 12:24

Yer full of sh  t - these sound great - i have one as my bed room player - they are and should be a mini grail box

look great - feel heavy - sound great

but £500 is a little over the top

litfan - 2011-10-07 14:04

Only my opinion man. Sorry. 4 or 5 other people who heard it, weren`t impressed. Heavy? erm, do they weigh boxes in ounces?

redbenjoe - 2011-10-07 14:45

hey rich --do you still have that f40 ?

i thought you sold most of your collection -

i have NEVER seen even one for sale on USA ebay -- ever !!!

ghettoman - 2011-10-07 14:49

ira i seen one or 2 on yahoo a while ago, think that is the only place you can buy one..

redbenjoe - 2011-10-07 14:54

litfans past and present posts about the sound quality

of this one --

has made it a ' must hear//have '

litfan - 2011-10-07 14:58

Yes ira. I still have it. It was a NOS one. Like paul say`s, from japan. Even though it`s new (ish), it still needs new belts. I had to keep this one, as, i let so many crackers go. It weighs 3/4 times the panasonic, and, it`s the same size.

ghettoman - 2011-10-07 14:59

Ohhh Trust me ira/richard,if i had that sort of cash, and money was no obsticle,i could easily get addicted to buying boxes from yahoo,i would replace the whole of my collection with japan models,i love all the japan boxes..Very Much !!

litfan - 2011-10-07 15:04

Yep, got ya paul lad. Have you noticed. The japanese, refer to these boxes as "junk" item.

redbenjoe - 2011-10-07 15:05

very surprised these are so extreme rare-

when sony makes something THAT GOOD -

the entire world usually wants it !!!

litfan - 2011-10-07 15:07

You can`t carry it round though ira, it`s too flippin heavy. Heavier, than a gf777.

bendycat - 2011-10-07 15:08

your making out this model is crap - far from it - yes there may be better one's - but i'm not giving up mine cos it's great for me and what i want from it

ghettoman - 2011-10-07 15:10

i've noticed they name there boxes as junk,i think its to cover themselves,i think they label all vintage items as junk so as to tell you definatley no returns..but i love them japan boxes,i dont know what it is,but there is something special about them, just wish i had that much cash to buy them all..

ghettoman - 2011-10-07 15:15

Its everyone to their own bendy,if you like a particular box, you'll find that even if it does'nt sound that great, you wont seem to mind asmuch, like i keep bangin on about this deccasound box i want, that box is cheapo charlie, not even as good sound as a discolite, but i want one, just for the nostalgia and sentiment, everyone appreciates different boxes lad, some people might think they sound ok,and some people think they sound not so good, but i have to say in lits defence,he has had nearly every box ever made e.g M90s,GF1000,Tosh Bombeats, the monty,so he can give quite good opinions of any particular box,but still, you like it so rock on man, keep it,play it,love it

litfan - 2011-10-07 15:22

Very diplomatic ira. My mind is telling me to tell bendy it`s crap, but, i am overruling it. I haven`t really seen a proper crap box yet.

thebeardedlady - 2011-10-07 15:52

I see there has been 2 offers on the box....anyone on here offer 50p?

sega - 2011-10-07 16:17

If they did they need to own up to claim their status

itd - 2011-11-08 09:39

Hello people, i'm owning up to putting an offer that ebay listing!!  Can't claim the status though, i offered £100 as i've been after one of these ever since my brother owned one and wouldn't let me use it.

Got knocked back obviously, but another listing came up a day or two later which i won for £40.  It was advertised as cassette not working but i've fixed it and now it's mint.

More about the nostaga than the sound quality for me with this box - not great for playing the ipod through but hook up a cd player and it's champion.

Great forum

litfan - 2011-11-08 09:56

£399 . I mean, come on.

Re-advertised since for £250 but still didn't sell.  Anyone have an opinion on what this box should go for in good condition?

penge - 2011-11-08 10:54

Steady on lads it's a free market, you can ask what you like.
You don't have to buy it.
Talking about a high price, James Craven Pierce must have force the price of Sony 900s up 50% min.
After the 28 BBx's sale.
Does he have few stacked away?

1234Penge

litfan - 2011-11-08 12:01

That, to me, is pure greed. I would have been ecstatic at £200.

claret.badger - 2011-11-08 12:59

shill bids surely!
