i have an early 90s boombox, and i was wondering if it would look cool if i put LED's in the speakerboxes facing the speakers so they turn red with the music. to me it would be a 5 minute job. but idk if it would look retarded. also, is it possible to put a light behind the channel display?

and did you see what another person did with a M90 and a M70 by just adding LED's to the VU meter's and then sold same fully working for a leeetle extra xmas $$$ ?

Go Ahead and LED it UP - Preferably if you could find a Circuit that lit the led's to the level or frequency and in different color's and such so that it would match to the music played ... ?

leds are cool, do it.

thoes boomboxes were verry nice with the LED upgrade. my box is not quite that old. but mine dosnt have any meeters on it. thanks for the advice.

LEDs are indeed cool. im gonna try to do some unique lighting. with only 4 LEDs i can really try.

if you get a really crappy box,just do it,but if you get a nice box,still do it,but aslong as you know what you are doing,and 2,aslong as its reversable and you can restore it back to normal,because when you come to maybe sell it on one day,people are really funny about boxes that have been messed with..

its a decent box, early 90s though. it is 100% reversable, the addition that i put in. it sucks, cause you cant even see it. i thought id try to light up the tunner display, and it just isnt posible.

Then the question is - Just what is IT Lighting up?

if its dark, and you peek in through the vents, maybee you could see the inside light up.. i havent tried that yet.
