ditto mate,tried for the last one on ebayuk didnt win..i like hitachis,bought a cheapo 7720e last week because nothing else was going..wasnt expecting much but i was pleased with it when it landed.

My 8600 sounds pretty damn sweet, I think we have to take into account the degredation of each individual box maybe not sounding as good as it should/could do.
The 8600 is a good sounding box according to the one i have it is anyway

I love my B&O system 15 looks and sounds good
The 9494's I've had have all sounded worse than my 9191
All Hitachi's I have had sounded pants compared to anything else I got
it's an electrical lottery
and a lot of forgiveness on the ear of the beholder

mmm thats a interesting thought!
ill have to put my 9494 up against my 9191 and see what comes out on top but im sure it will be the 9494

ye good luck in aqquiring one stereo mad, i had a minty one not too long back but it,s gone now, decent sounding but awesome looking, the sweetest looking hitachi ever made in my opinion, aagh i do miss mine
