has anyone from the uk bought any boxes from the the states? what sort of charges are there to bring it through customs etc?

VAT is always a risk from customs and excise - if item is not marked gift/sample

other than that you should be golden

James, you have to stop hijacking other people's posts, seriously!

Well, back on topic.I once won a NOS 8600, in the USA. It wasn`t cheap, and, when it arrived, the driver say`s, the charge is £148.00. I alway`s steered clear of the states, when buying boxes. Stick to germany.

Shipping a box the size of a 777 from china will cost 120 uk pounds

ghettoman - 2011-12-10 11:13

i bought Boxes from japan, and the shipping was £120,i was charged £42 each import tax,but the boxes were'nt that expensive to buy,and i bought a box from hong kong and was charged £32,i dont think it matters where you buy from you are still going to get stung import duty, even if its marked as "gift",customs have become smart to that, the stupid thing is,what the customs do is,look at the value of the stereo, then add it to the shipping charge, then calculate how much tax you have to pay,so the more you pay for a box and shipping, the more you pay tax,so if you buy a box for £30 from japan and £120 for shipping, you will be charged around £40-£50,but if your friend buys the same box for £100 and £120 for shipping, they will be charged more, bit ridiculous..yes stick to germany, thats if you can get them to ship to uk,and if you can get them to accept paypal,Not many do,they only accept bank transfere, which i wont do !! you are not protected for loss or damage,or if they decide not to send it and keep your cash..too risky for me..

I agree too, every single post is referring to what you have bought or what is for sale, give it a rest.

I dont even see how the post with everything listed for sale, is even slightly relevant to what the guy asked in the first place.

put your stuff in the for sale section, IN 1 THREAD - and leave it there. jebus.

plus your prices are of the chart, not exactly prices for the people.
