Can anybody confirm

radio.raheem - 2012-01-24 07:42

bought this a few days ago...to replace my scrap one

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1607...id=p3984.m1497.l2649

it's made by sharp...can anybody confirm if this was made by anybody else...it's just i seem to remember the identical unit around here years ago but the brand name WAS DENNON...am i mistaken or has my brain finally given in to old age

just an fyj..but it reminds me of those cheap phillips red yellow rollers...but this has much more class

now that has the looks only it's mother could love

how do they sound?

I guess if Denon "did" license them - they must be pretty good

It sounds ok not brilliant....but then my expectations of boxes are more than most...wich can be anoying...guessing but it probbly sounds slightly better than an m70.....

and i agree about it's looks but i quite like them for it being an unusual...as i remember the shop i saw it in it was probbly about £350 £400 in the early 90's...it was the last decent boomer in there i ever saw....i diddn't buy it because i thought it was way over priced and it has no dolby (huge thing for me back then)

mind you i bought a dt680 and a 707 egg feom the same shop just a few months before hand on credit....i stil have the 707 and it still works flawless apart from the cobra bit...wich broke when the handle gave way...it smashed in half on the ground....

radio.raheem - 2012-01-26 01:25

here is a little interesting titbit about this unit....took my scrap one apart as the cd is dead.....the speakers are 99% identical to the ones found in the panasonic dt 680 series....wich leads me to belive the speakers are made by panasonic...as there NOT branded by sharp....i wish this unit sounded as good as a 680...but it dosen't sound a patch on the 680

Wow, that Sharp is one ugly mother ******. Sorry to hear about your 707 Reno, the non worker i had off you is now working, used the CD unit out of a dead RX DT07

radio.raheem - 2012-01-29 20:08

hehe adspin..i can see why people think its ugly...i thimk the main reason i like it...is because it was the last decent radio i ever saw in a great shop i used to go to around here.....if i rember correct you took a 707 you traded with me...glad to hear its working....i have a mint one boxed with everything now
