I was surfing aorund at work and ended up in the electronics cathegory of an advartisement site -a site I rarely visit as there never appears anything interesting. Untill now. I saw the small picture in the list and couldnt believe my eyes. Could it be? is it? IT IS!! Wholy fucking shit!! The domestic version of conion c-100f, only 70km drive from my home! This was to good to be true! It had been up for a week so I was pretty sure it was allready gone when I called him up;

-Im calling about a stereo

-yes

-Do you still have it?

-yes

-Ok. Can I come and pick it up right now?

-sure

I was shaking. I couldnt wait untill i was done at work, so I took three hours of and went there as fast as i could, still afraid that he for some reason wouldnt sell it to me.

An hour later it was mine. The price? 80 euro Not mint, but very OK condition

I allready had a c-100f in even better condition, but Ive allways wanted the MARK-version- only sold in scandinavia and allmoust impossible to find...

I still cant believe it. I bet i could visit that site everyday for the rest of my life without finding another one even though i serach all over the country. Now I found one in a shithole 70km from home!?!?!?

chris69 - 2012-03-03 03:26

driptip - 2012-03-03 07:25

congrats GuSG, Its been a while since i saw you here,

great find man, the ultimate box, enjoy, let us know how it works and sounds.

bendycat - 2012-03-03 08:46

weldone and such a cool story way of finding it - i know what you mean about driving some where and thinking all the time that some one might get there before you and when you get there he say's "sorry just sold it - as i didn't think you would turn up"

From my eye it looks like it will clean up well - don't worry if it's not mint - this show that it has had a life

one sweet box and a very cool way of finding it

cheers B

retro - 2012-03-03 08:49

I wish I can get so lucky, congratulations.

chris69 - 2012-03-03 09:31

Even if it's not mint, who cares and it definately looks excellent for sure and complete too! Who said hens teeth were rare? This is ultra rare my friend and hen's teeth are nothing compared to this rare MARK version

Please post more pics of it! I would love to see the metal name plate on the back where it gives the specs

Yes and i bet if they threatened to fire him,i think he would have said "ok,do what you want, but i'm still leaving to get my new boombox" lol

Gus,i hope you clean that box up and look after it,some things happen for a reason, you got it because it was ment to be

you was destined to own it..We all need a little luck sometimes, just to make us smile and our miserable lives a little better..

eddy - 2012-03-04 00:47

Wow man , i did not know if these were on the market in Europe

The first time i saw a clairtone / conion with LW band

80 euro is a steal

This story reminds me on the absulutely mint GF 777 i found for a 1 hour drive from me

Was a bit more expensive than 80 euro though.

Enjoy your find Gusg

samsnite - 2012-03-04 09:08

Very nice! Never heard of the Mark version before... Cool to know these were sold in scandinavia! Maybe here are some of them in Finland... or then maybe not.

gusg - 2012-03-04 09:21

Thanks for the respons!

Chris: wasnt there a spanish member on here who owned two rivieras? I´m quite sure that Ive seen pictuers of them..

Dripdip: Its been a while, yes. I kind of lost the interest for boomboxes a few yers ago, but since my new find I feel like jump in to this world again!

About the sound etc: Sounds great, everything works besides of the cassettes, trying to switch belts right now.

Oh, and here a picture for chris

Got to agree with all the posts.........A GREAT STORY........badgers right...this is what its all about

chris69 - 2012-03-04 09:55

Thanks GuSG ! I'm a huge Conion/Clairtone fan and it's always been my favorite of all boombox's so it's a really pleasure to see this! I've owned lots of the North American versions but this is as close as i will ever get to seeing or owning one of these
There may have been a Riviera version on here but if so,it was long before my time. I searched and can find no links on here or pics.

robert.karlstrom - 2014-02-01 05:43

Great one man, I have the same!

I was wondering if it´s easy to upgrade it a bit since the sound is quite crappy?

blaster - 2014-02-01 06:14

Wow those are very rare....i wonder why they named them as those brands....and do the IC boards say Conion on them?

retro.addict - 2014-02-01 11:09

That's a version I've never seen in all my time here. Must be a rare one. Well done!
