your opinions please!

hi all hope your all good

not sure if we've had this thread before but anyway here goes....

as much as i love my philips d8614 i have come to the conclusion that it would look much better with twin ariels.

i think boxes look much better with twin ariels and if i would of been chief designer at the time i would of made them compulsery

another box which i think should have 2 is the hitachi trk 8600, i think the 1 ariel lets it down a little.

iv'e noticed that the extra ariel does nothing more for reception and the extra ariel is probs just for design only, still it does wonders for the eyes.

anyone got a box in mind that would look much better with 2 ariels instead of one??

bison - 2012-03-22 05:02

aiwa cs600 would look better with twin ariels,

underated box in my opinion..nice bass for a cheapish box

deliverance - 2012-03-22 05:14

twin antenna look far better than one           8600 , 525 , sankei tcr-s90 , d8444 would of suited 2.

bison - 2012-03-22 05:16

^even on small boxes, sfg is right it should have been compulsary

mitchelljames - 2012-03-22 10:28

Agree with this, just think how many minis look great with twin ariels.

Just looking at my own stuff, gf-575, gf-8989 and Sanyo m9990 would all benefit from the second stick.

Also ive got an ipod Lasonic i931 and thats only got 1 ariel, would also be better with two.

I LOOOVE twins...!!! So twins it is!

chris69 - 2012-03-22 11:14

I agree almost every boombox looks so much better with twin antenna's

macflyer - 2012-03-22 16:24

I agree. One aerial actually just breaks the symmetric law of boombox design

retro - 2012-03-22 16:34

Twin aerials for sure, especially on the smaller models. The PC-55 has them mounted asymmetrically which I'm not to crazy about.

scottym - 2012-03-22 20:08

Even side mounted twins?

nevone - 2012-03-23 00:15

Twin Aerials would be the first choice by far.

I also like the single aerial that comes out from the box's body, like in sony cfs88 or grundig party center 2000 (actually, a lot of grundig had those sunken antennas)

electron1100 - 2012-03-23 02:34

I agree with everyone about twin aerials looking better, so i put the back of a scrap sharp GF-555 on to my GF-525 so this now has twin aerials, i also peeled off the information sticker and swapped them

lav.loo - 2012-03-23 05:05
