So what would be what, most people would proberley have an M90 or C100 for Mayfair and Park lane but what box has the dishonour of being The Old Kent Road.

Mayfair

Park Lane

Bond Street

Oxford Street

Regent Street

Piccadilly

Coventry Street

Leicester Square

Trafalgar Square

Fleet Street

Strand

Vine Street

Marlborough Street

Bow Street

Northhumberland Avenue

Whitehall

Pall Mall

Pentonville Road

Euston Road

The Angel, Islington

Whitechapel Road

Old Kent Road

Utilities: Electric Company and Water Works

Stations: Marylebone Station, Kings Cross Station, Liverpool Street Station, and Fenchurch Street Station

If this dosnt work what about Boombox Top Trumps lol

brutus442 - 2012-03-26 18:35

I'm not sure about the UK version but here in Canada...I'd vote YORX. A crappy brand from SEARS that was only purchased if you hated your tapes and wanted them wound around the capstan spindle

Great post.  For some reason I see the TPR-959 as Regent Street

Gf-1000, 999,777 and 767 for the stations.

Discolite for Piccadilly.

deliverance - 2012-03-27 10:26

the 777 is no way that bad .

I'd put eBay as Jail. You can 'just visit' from the outside or you have to pay to leave once inside.

isolator42 - 2012-03-28 06:17

I've tried to get a decent spread of manufacturers & major grails. I've included reasons for including (who & why they're famous, etc.) if they've occurred to me.

Mayfair JVC M90 (major Grail, LL Cool J)

Park Lane Conion C100 (major Grail)

Bond Street Sanyo BigBen (major Grail)

Oxford Street Sharp GF777 (major Grail, Run DMC)

Regent Street Aiwa TPR950

Piccadilly Discolite (far too high, but had to be)

Coventry Street Tecsonic J-1 Super Jumbo (Radio Raheem in Do The Right Thing)

Leicester Square Lasonic 931 (quintessential boomer)

Trafalgar Square JVC 550 (10” woofer mono)

Fleet Street Sharp VZ2500 (w record deck)

Strand Toshiba WX-1

Vine Street Fisher PH492 (3pc)

Marlborough Street Panasonic RX-DT75 (best egg)

Bow Street Pioneer 909

Northhumberland Avenue JVC M70

Whitehall Sony CFS99

Pall Mall Realistic SCR-6

Pentonville Road JVC Kaboom (for sheer longevity & crazy bass)

Euston Road Hitachi 3D7 (gotta have a 3D  )

The Angel, Islington Beosystem 10 (on sleek looks alone)

Whitechapel Road Sharp GF9000*

Old Kent Road Philips D8444*

   * = often cited as disappointing sound compared to looks

I'll leave the stations & utilities to someone else...

deliverance - 2012-03-28 06:25

isolator42 - 2012-03-28 07:52

The discolite has to be Piccadilly Circus:

ao - 2012-03-28 07:54

Damn, it was staring me right in the face

Wait a god damn minute.... Has anyone ever seen Trafalgar Square from the air...

brutus442 - 2012-03-28 08:02
