I only read the start and end of the description,

"this is my husbands pride and joy................its 24 inches long and very heavy"

retrodos - 2012-05-17 14:52

Anything unrestored when it come to electronic over $500, don't care if it a m90 is to much, as you are just buying a project, or worst, someone trash!

Notice the one with the ultra high price tags boxes that are solded AS-IS condition are mostly junk, that don't work and 9 times out of 10, and some idiot been inside, to make matters worst and then the seller sells it AS-IS knowing it pure junk. I know I work on all kinds of electronics and seen it all.

The ones you have the best luck is the ones starting at low reserve where the seller doesn't know what it worth, have bought some in the box sealed this way or mint condition.

Now where did I leave that $19k I had lying around for impulse buys...?

For asking price of only $19k and seller to lazy to clean the scuffs and the sticker residue on the case, plus being sold AS-IS, plus you have to have 50 feedback just to puchase it.

Let say it was worth that much, it not, but let just say it is. It would have to be in perfect mint condition and their hell no way I would puchase it without seeing it in person, even if it means a plane ticket, if I was actually considering it. Let alone could think of a few 100's things better to spend 19k, rather donate the money, at least it might go to something good, then give it to a single lazy seller, that can't even be bother to clean the item? Or it better come with pure silver bars or etc.

Granted is one of the finest cassette deck made and can go as high as $8000 depending on its condition and it's the LIMITED version, but that for a perfect one. Did cost MSRP $6000 in 1981.

I was just about to say that Nakamichis look like boring VCR's, but THAT one is pimp as hell!  Wow.....

Oh that bitch! ...She sell broken crap for over 1k knowing it doesn't work and it's trash, but fail to list it that way. She don't even knows what models are even worth money!! She also sell egg shape boxes for $100 or over bucks, that would be hard to fetch $15 working. Then when you email her with a reasonable offer, whats it actually worth, not even a lowball offer and offer to buy some as a lot, due to I actually restore them and she knows tape deck doesn't work or radio has issues, but fail to state that in the auctions and use the "Sold AS-IS line", but told me the issues when I ask about them, but at first didn't want to say the issues and beat around the bush, but had to push it out of her, knowing they been listed for months and offer her alot, but at the time she had a couple models that would sell if restored, was worth at least asking. She just has a huge attitude and overcharges on everything. Avoid!!

http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=chelitosmom&Dirn=Left+by&Many=ON&FPos=ON

Reason why I don't even fu#k with boxes anymore, just way to costly to buy broken AS-IS, nowadays as these stupid sellers just ask way over the top for them and lie about condition, or shipped them with almost no padded and comes damage externally. Then have to restore them which take time and money and have to deal with finding parts or cracked plastic parts, changing capacitors out and ETC. After finish the restoration, have to sell to make some money, then you have buyers that complaint your asking to much and fail to understand the cost involve in repair these and think they sure get it the same price as the AS-IS ones and takes forever to sell them, not worth the investment anymore!! Only deal with highend audio now and usually move the item within a week of listing them, sometimes sell before even listing the stuff to regulars, as people seem more educated and understand the cost involve and time it take to due a proper restoration and cost of equipment and tools required.

The new sellers that sell AS-IS broken crap and idiot bidders that bid way to high, that don't know any better are what fu#king up the market and going to end up losing in the end. As master techs that use to buy these broken boxes have move on to other pro equipment, or highend consumer devices. So their going to be noone left to service theses boxes and are going to become worthless, as it not just belts and slider that need servicing and right now their just to many idiot bidders, that don't know better, that bid up the stuff and pay to realize they were ripoff and then resell at a even higher price broken and in some cases hack up.

She sure rename her store "Reach for the stars", instead of "The Cloud 9".
