Panasonic RX-DT75 Cobra-top. What's it worth?

irbandito - 2012-10-02 15:07

Hello all. Newbie here. Found this forum from googling Panasonic RX DT75s as I want to sell mine.

I've owned it since new in 1994, it all still works exactly the same as it always did. Brilliantly.

Sadly, a growing household means that space (and cash) is at a premium. Got a few cosmetic marks - a small scratch on each speaker grill and the aerial is slightly bent, but still extends/retracts and folds correctly. Remote works fine. Original box is long gone, but I do have a pdf of the manual.

So, is there much of a market for these?

Not much.... Even new may not be more than $50...Thats what i think. Lets see what the pros say

watch out for speaker rot....which this model suffers from....good examples sell anywhere from £50 to £160 on a good day

redbenjoe - I'm in the UK. Happy to post anywhere if you're happy to pay.

radio raheem - no obvious speaker damage.

Do you mind me asking whereabouts in the UK?

If you are in the London area or the South East, I'm very interested...

im with vincent.....ive had one, they are overrated in my honest opinion-too modern, all hard black plastic-the sound is good though-but not something id fight for to get another-sorry to be negative

andyboombox - 2012-10-03 05:31

sorry i forgot.....honest value?£80 tops for a boxed minter, pick one up easily from £20 but no more than 80-and thats being generous

Speaker Rot or "foam rot" as it's known is easy to sort out so long as you can find a replacement foam surround. Normal circular speakers much easier to find than the oval variety.

isolator42: I'm in Northumberland, but do get around a bit.

Anyone interested: please feel free to email/PM me with an offer....

Oh, and thanks for advice on value.

The only one I've found online so far is US ebay for $360 and that wasn't in perfect condition, so I'm optimistic about more than £20!
