Quick ebay question

retrolad - 2012-10-22 10:58

Ok i have a non desirable gf555 is great condition apart from alloys door stickers but need a gf777 large tuning knob so to be a good seller and not damage my 900+ 100% feedback ive stripped it apart cleaned every switch and slider and changed belts etc however ive took pictures to prove it as a buyer would you be put off if you saw a box that had been stripped???

northerner - 2012-10-22 11:02

Nope. If someone has already done the hard work for me I'd be perfectly happy

retrodos - 2012-10-22 11:09

No it will help you, as alot of sellers on eBay lie about reconditioning, so pictures show proof.

Good stuff well its my current box for using my ipod through so wen i get the 777 eventually cracked on with the 555 will be a gonna. Cheers

northerner - 2012-10-22 11:18

There are a lot of 555's on eBay so to differentiate yours and show it as a genuinely refurbed box can only increase its value.  I've got a 525 which is more or less the same box and I like the sound on it especially using the line in for iPod

Only thing is mine isnt complete with it missing the alloy door trims! Yeah i loved my 525 handy little box for taking outside with a fairly good sound! When i get my 777 out the loft ill post pics on here and people can see how rough it is just dont want to break it when it works fully so may have to be a non standard refurb

northerner - 2012-10-22 12:23

I'd love a rough 777 to do a refurb on! Keeping it in the loft is sin tho regardless of its condition!

Itll be down soon may need to contact you regarding spraying faded speaker cones

northerner - 2012-10-22 13:29

I don't respray speakers I use artists acrylics as you can mix any colour and its a fairly dry paint so you can paint very light coats without adding weight to the cone. Just need a decent wide artists paintbrush. Makes sure you have some cotton buds if you get any on the chrome centre and don't paint the outer part that moves otherwise you might affect the flexibiity and therefore the sound. It's an easy job and looks good once done

I use Crayon

i've used wide-tip graffiti marker...great for covering a larger area..best to take the speakers out...to do this.......brand of marker i used was a Molotow 30mm
