northerner - 2012-10-29 11:55

As you may remember I completely failed to fix the duff channel on my M70. Well I took it to Docs on Saturday and he's only gone and blooming fixed it!!!!

So it's rocking on both channels again he tells me. Hope to pick it up tomorrow and am seriously overexcited about getting it back again in working order!

So thanks Dave you are a flamin genius!!!!

lav.loo - 2012-10-29 12:51

great stuff Si love to hear this type of stuff, hey Lee i think the d8614 sounds as good if not better than an m70, sorry had to get this one in

northerner - 2012-10-29 12:53

Have you got shares I Philips Azz? I'm sure you must be on commission or something!

northerner - 2012-10-29 12:56

Cheers Lee! I'd love to have sorted it myself but lack of any sort of skills or knowledge of electronics held me back somewhat!! Thank goodness there's a Docs!!

lav.loo - 2012-10-29 12:56

ha ha i wish i had Si, i never hear a bad word about the m70 and i'm bloody sick of it

i think i'm going to add one to my long list of wants

northerner - 2012-10-29 13:10

Well Azz you sold me on the D8614 so it's on my want list as you know Then I could do a side by side sound comparison to see if you're right!

stereo.mad - 2012-10-29 13:32

so si were all itching to know..... what was the problem with it in the end?

northerner - 2012-10-29 13:42

I'd love to say it wasnt the slider...but I'd be lying! Ha ha! Took a much more skilled man than me to suss it out tho

hats off to the master....docs

lav.loo - 2012-10-29 13:51

yes Lee you have both the mk1 and mk2 you lucky sod, but yours must be on their last legs if their not throttlin your m70

samovar - 2012-10-29 13:58

i must say that i love the philips cause it has a fantastic sound for its size. but having no m70 --no jvc actually -- and having never heard one, i must suspend judgment.

for those who can read between the lines i also suggest that i might buy/swap one so as to make a comparison of sorts...

lav.loo - 2012-10-29 14:03

the philips must have something over the m70 as it retailed at $420 in 1982, the m70 was quiet a bit less i think, unless philips were just too over priced

docs - 2012-10-29 15:14

Thanks folks, glad this one rocks again
