they do look good the leds on a 8614,

i cant remember the name of the box but it was one of docs,

it had massive leds half the width of the box..looked top at the meet

very nearly purchased a 8714 once but lost track of time in the closing minutes of the auction!

yeah az those `elephants` look like they are much better build quality than the

usual philips stuff..great styling too..maybe they were released earlier when even the

cheaper brands felt like they were well made

they were released at the same time as the 8614 Andy, 82.

believe it or not thow the 8614 was the dearest box philips produced, $410

as opposed to the elephants i think they were round the $370 mark

the berlin wall was still up in 1982 and philips are from austria so the price for their products must have been even more expensive in russia

hey Retro not sure how easy they are to come by in the US but they go real cheap over here.

if you get the chance grab one, i promise you won't be dissapointed
