Opened my 777 to find it smashed bad packing indeed

retrolad - 2012-11-06 10:22

Gutted just opened my 2nd 777 from a uk seller to find it packaged very very poor and hey presto the whole back is cracked from top to bottom and on same side the front has a 4 inch crack to the left of speaker! Gutted as it fully works and would of been a minter after id spent a few hours on it! So seller emailed maybe a 777 for splitting! ill post a pic when i get a chance

thats bad news

im hoping to buy a 777 soon i will be picking it up if i find one

northerner - 2012-11-06 10:37

Such a shame

retrolad - 2012-11-06 10:38

Well a new back would sort the majority of damage and i can get one of those is a few weeks its the crack in front which is annoying. I pack all my items the same even if a sell a box for 30quid i pack it as i would a 500quid one. Hopefully the seller will reply back soon.

All too common unfortunately

that,s so bad luck after such a bargain! i always ask seller to pack very well but still sometimes they don't bother

retrolad - 2012-11-06 11:00

Seller got back got to take pics and hes going to claim against courier so hopefully full refund and a free 777 unlikely but fingers crossed

lav.loo - 2012-11-06 11:13

northerner - 2012-11-06 12:33

Doesn't look too bad...a bit of epoxy and a plate glued to the inside will hold it all together and you're good to go!

samsnite - 2012-11-06 12:50

It hurts looking at that...

retrolad - 2012-11-06 12:56

i agree northerner shame as had a new tape door for it and these replacement bits to make it a good one like my other 777 note the antenna and knob where for my bros 777

SDC12317

northerner - 2012-11-06 13:29

Well if you can't bear to look at it you can drop it round my house next time youre passing You'll sort those cracks easy then if you get some money back you've got an even bigger bargain!

retrolad - 2012-11-06 13:40

To be honest the guy is looking at getting me a full refund and me keeping the 777 if so that will be bargain of the year had it playing my ipod for last 3 hours! I will get a replacement back for it and epoxy resin the body from inside.

northerner - 2012-11-06 14:13

Nice one! I'd put up wih a couple of cracks to get one for free!!!!!

radio.raheem - 2012-11-12 09:50

A crack is a best man's friend haha seriously that's a bummer bad packing is distroying more and more boxes by the day.....but hopfully this will be fixed up easy.....dave bush's 999 was a scrapper but he worked wonders on her.....good luck dude

retrolad - 2012-11-12 10:04

Its all fixed up already just waiting for new rear cover to arrive it was all stripped and repaired etc over weekend its in very good order! Still waiting for my refund so possibly still a chance that its a free 777 the seller was pretty sound and process will take two weeks he has mailed me all the correspondance off courier i even sent pics of box with my own packing material underneath to make it look better than it was so makes the claim more in my favour

radio.raheem - 2012-11-12 21:02

That's cool.....trouble is and i don't want to put a downer on things but sometimes the insurance may want the origional goods back to inspect them etc.....but im not sure what its like these days.....if i get smashed boxes i just chuck them.or repair them...can't be bothered with insurance as sometimes it can be a real nightmare.....but good luck anyway dude

Yeah, same ere. The tosh sx1000, is staying in the shed. There`s no chance of fixing that thing. Good doorstop though.
