Box depreciation

That's gotta be some major value depreciation!...the last 3 Pioneer 909's on eBay went for:

£1120

£510

Then the last one went for £227!

I'd be mighty p1ssed if I'd bought the first one LOL!

Ironically, and going only by the descriptions, the first had a non working tape, the second was perfect and the last was a bag of nails so it's the guy in the middle that got a good deal. The others had more money than sense but at least that spike is over!

Makes you think about some auctions, people get some mates to bid to get the price up.

Shill bidding, how they get the prices up. Unfortunately their alot of greedy dishonest sellers. The problem is you have buyer with more money then sense that fall for these scams. Never buy boxes, "AS-IS due to vintage crap" etheir, if your going to pay good money for a box. That seller better back it up, otherwise no deal, as I am not paying lazy asshoes anymore and you sure not etheir.

Once their a lack of buyers and sellers are sitting on them for a while, maybe then they will get the point.

Good point. I have also noticed for the Sharp GF 777's from China each seller has one or two of these boxes at buy it now price of $1000 plus- and they have one or two for auction starting at like $300 or 400. The descriptions are almost identical.... the guys bidding at the auction think they are getting an amazing deal when they buy the boxes at auction for $600 or 700. I think the buy it now boxes priced at $1000 plus at all times serve only one purpose which is to make the price of these boxes look artificially very high.
