Sharp GF 9292

steadyeddie - 2012-11-22 04:31

Hi all, first post on here and first boombox recently purchased. It's a mint Sharp GF 9292 but has an intermittent problem with the left speaker, it cuts out occasionally but with a gentle nudge comes back on again. I'm not an expert and have no experience with these so any help would be much appreciated. I have thoroughly searches the site but nothing came up. If its a simple fix I'm happy to give it a go but I have the option to return for a return. I can't decide what to do...

Many thanks in advance,

Ed

Probably just needs the function switch sprayed with some deoxit.

Thanks for the advice Scotty,

It doesn't appear to be a product widely available in the UK. Do you know of any other brands?

Thanks

Ed

I use Servisol and it works well.  Best way forward is to clean all the switches which involves opening the box up which is easy on this model.  Take the back off then the top plate and you have easy access to all the switches.  Spray in the Servisol where the contacts are and then work the switches back and forth 20 or 30 times then leave to dry.  Do all of them at once then its done.

Oh and welcome!
