docs - 2012-12-08 04:14

Nice one !!
I'll snap a few later too.

samovar - 2012-12-08 04:34

I like Lav Loo's minimalism: he needs just 2 boxes -which by the way I adore-- to surprise. He reminds me of Raymond Queneau's Exercises in Style, a nice booklet presenting 99 rhetorical permutations of the same story (an accident between two passengers on a bus in Paris). A lavely reading indeed

of course i didn't mean it! Queneau is one of my favorite authors, you may have seen an old movie by Louis Malle entitled Zazie in the Metro: it is the transposition of one of his novels.

Exercises in Style tells and retells the same episode 99 times, one for each chapter. The stunning fact is that, far from being boring, the book is irresistible. This is because of the author's fantastic ingenuity whenever he retells the story anew.

Now you have used your Philips & Daewoo in so many different threads, so many times, each time in so different contexts, that I couldn't help but think of Queneau. Hope this explains my previous post.

(btw, the marginal humor you may have detected in it depends on the fact that Queneau is a humoros writer...  It goes without saying, however, that he is also lovely -- i.e., given the circumstancest: LAVely
