really?

lav.loo - 2012-12-30 10:54

does this amazing looking box really pump out 110w pmpo

reading the stats on the brochure it sure says so, i would give my right arm for one of these

conion tc999

Why have 110 watts when you can have 280?

deliverance - 2012-12-30 11:09

£2.80 more like

Can you imagine what that speaker would do with 4ohms of 280 watts behind it

lav.loo - 2012-12-30 13:11

a very large BOOM lol

deliverance - 2012-12-30 13:21

let a wine rack loose on it

PMPO is a very misleading figure, designed to make low powered kit appear better than it really is. Seriously, Peak Music Power Output is just that, a measurement of transient (peak) capability. A more realistic output figure is 10-15 watts p/ch, maybe a little more...

Ever plugged a 15 inch bass cone into the mains.....way louder than a shot gun.....great fun

metad - 2012-12-30 15:01

Conion C-100 has HA-1392 chip as power amp, and most likely this C-135 has the same power amplifier, in this case - output power only 7 watts per channel.

according to HA-1392 datasheet , even a bit less - 6,8 watts under 15v power supply.

Metad is correct....but i think the conion has 2 ha1392 chips....same as 777 family

happy new year metad

Hi guy's very sharp Boombox lav, that baby has street cred writtin all over it just like the clairtone ,conion models, not much on the watt department but it's still pretty darn loud.It was never intended for HI-FI ,Just bling and loud! Back in the day lav for that box i would have givin a kidney and my left arm,not the right one though,, it's needed to carry that beast!!!!

brutus442 - 2012-12-30 19:03

I agree PIONEER

Those chrome bezels just ooze... KICK A$$!  Sometimes it's all about the show

driptip - 2012-12-30 19:08

the c100 is twice louder than the c135 aka tc-999, the c-135 prob only have 1 HA-1392 for the whole unit, thats if the c-100 has 2.

redbenjoe - 2012-12-30 19:47

imho

both the 999 and the c100f have tremendous distortion at high

volumes --so the theoretical ' twice as loud ' comparo can never be

comfortably tested or heard -

however ,side-by-side the c100f sounds MUCH more solid

and its threshold of distortion is at a far higher volume =

both are great looking collector boxes

and the c100f has overwhelming power

lav.loo - 2012-12-31 00:31

thanks for all the input here guys much appreciated, now that the power issue has been sorted i can concentrate on it's beautiful looks now

1) PMPO is meaningless, as is MPO.  They could make up anything they want, with no consequences for their lies.  Like the 1000 watt Berecha.

2) The only true power data is RMS

3) The C135 / TC999 is the best-looking Conion IMHO.  It has a Sanyo LA4508 amp chip, which from a quick glance at the interwebz provides 8.5 watts per channel.

tc999 amp

geoff.rcm70 - 2015-07-06 07:52

But it has kick ass looks which is sometimes more important

retro.addict - 2015-07-07 13:39

If you look closely at the writing, after "110W (PMPO)" it says "14W (RMS)", which amounts to 7W per channel.

reli - 2015-07-07 14:43

Heh...I gave up trying to read that tiny little pic

Where did that info come from?  I don't think it's that low, unless that's the minimum between a broad frequency range.

M70 is 7 watts minimum between 100 and 15,000 Hz, and that's just the minimum, which means its maximum is undoubtedly higher.

Now the M90, I doubt it only has 2.5 more watts than the M70.

boeingman777 - 2015-07-07 19:34

Not sure how accurate the source is (another forum) but the output of the JVC M90 is said to be 17WRMS x 2 @ 10%THD using the AN7156 IC amp chip.  Sounds about right.
