Holy cow thats hilarious mate...some go for maximum shine or get it as near new as possible...only a Brit would make one look rusty to go with our wet rainy weather!  Not sure about the marker pen but I actually really like the mottled red/brown colour...looks cool.  Love the VW logo and Rust-eze?...hilarious

lav.loo - 2013-04-19 07:56

yeah that is funny as hell MJ, i particularly love the made in japan rusted in england bit

mitchelljames - 2013-04-19 07:57

Cheers Si, yeah the pen, im not 100% sure on that either, I can always rust over it

mitchelljames - 2013-04-19 07:57

cheers Az

lol

its absolutely the best thing to do with a box that you'd never get back to mint...go for something unique instead

mitchelljames - 2013-04-19 15:00

Yeah the box was in quite poor cosmetic shape, i would never rat/rust a box if it was minty or even good.

This beetle pic i found while looking for ideas was my inspiration.

prob too late now but the transport keys are easily removed by unclipping the bar at one end & simply sliding the bar out - reassemble by sliding the bar gently in & adding one key at at time in the correct order of course!

simples!

deech - 2014-01-15 02:09
