Hello,
I managed to find and purchase the first stereo cassette deck I ever owned in 1978. Purchased from ebay and delivered it was in a bit fo state. It had 35 years of grime. The packaging was poor and it rattled badly. 4 of the case struts inside the unit had snapped off so it had blatantly been abused in the post.

Apart from that it worked so I disassembled it, cleaned it all up, glued the struts back and re-assembled it. I still find it amazing that something like this at the age of 35 still works.

Congrats on getting the first box you owned. I got mine last year, its a crappy Sharp GF4646 but its still cool just for the memories. Trouble is, getting that one started me on the slippery slope to having about 20 knocking around...oops

That damn first box or first anything for that matter! My first box is supposed to come in today and I'm a nervous wreck, last two items I got were banged up. Trying to get my first box netted me 6 and counting. Same with my old Bmx bike, 20 something and counting lol. Glad you got yours repaired and it looks clean now!
