Hi all i have just fond this site and wondered if anyone can be gracious enough to help, I work for a Charity and we have just been given a Hitachi TRK-3D82E(BS) by someone to sell on the Charities behalf, now i know nothing about these machines but can vaguely remember them from years ago, the one we have been given is in its original box with all the original instructions etc and looks like new and works 100% fine.
I have been tasked with putting it for sale on Ebay and when i looked there is the exact same one that someone is selling saying its rare etc and the starting bid is an incredible £200.00 !!!!
Now that one has not got the box or instructions with it, are they really worth that much ????
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well box and instructions does add value but eBay buy it now prices are a bad guide as I see £10 boom boxes listed for silly money every day. The 3D's aren't majorly valuable but forum member Isolator will no doubt be along shortly with an expert opinion as he seems to have all of them

But it probably has no bids and will not receive any...
If you are unsure, add it with good description and pictures and put it as an auction.

That is right. Put it on at 99p with no reserve and save the charity money. Then watch the bids come in. What it sells for is what it is worth.

Thanks for all your excellent advise i have no idea how to write a good description other than saying it all works and is boxed with instructions, i dont even know what year it was made ???

You don't need all that waffle. You just need to take plenty of clear pics in daylight showing each side and the clean battery compartment. List what works and show the box and manual too.
It's people like us who buy these things and no ones fooled by these ott descriptions.
Just be clear and concise with plenty pics

maybe it would be better taking pics and posting on here that way we would avoid Ebay costs ??
Trouble is saying that i would not know what to ask for it so maybe the dreaded Ebay is the way.
9 times out of 10 eBay will get you more money than any other way...as long as you list it clearly and use words like boombox and ghetto blaster in the description as that's the sort of phrase that gets searched for.
I already have a boxed 3D...it's the same as the one currently listed for £400...but they're simply not worth what someone asks its worth what someone pays...which is often a whole lot less. At least on eBay it'll go to the person willing to pay the most.
I've worked for a uk charity for the last 12 years so I hope you get as much as possible for it

Might even help to post a youtube video link showing the functions working. It'll certainly convince the fence-sittering bidders that your on the level with your description.
