Hope someone thought twice on this one ?

I don't see this Crown having this kind of value myself... maybe I'm wrong.

your right dave , horrid things sod all in them and zero build quality .  i remember when i bought one i was so dissapointed when it arrived threw it straight on ebay .

nickfish - 2013-05-28 11:24

I suppose it was in very nice condition. Perhaps the original owner put it straight back in the box. There was no ebay back then remember...

I paid about £115ish for my Unisef version back when I first started collecting. I guess if your new to the boombox world this could look like a good price because on looks like it sould do the business and they often seem in good condition.

I would never buy another unless it was very cheap but I also wouldn't sell my Unisef for less than £100. What pi$$es me off is that there was a Lasonic 931 available for about £30 more when I bought mine. I thought they were basicly the same so I bought the Unisef cos it was cheaper

northerner - 2013-05-28 12:49

You can get a whole lot more for £200

claret.badger - 2013-05-28 14:32

classic design

shite quality

smeats1976 - 2013-05-28 14:49

Just shows what a decent add with loads of pics can do to boost value! I payed about £100 for mine off ebay (about the going rate), its alot of money for a box that sits on a shelf looking pretty!

andyboombox - 2013-05-29 03:04

how much????these are a pile of crap,a baby could lift one on its shoulder they are so light, and if it dropped it it would smash to bits, even from that height

deech - 2013-05-29 06:19

I m expecting a unisef soon !   it certainly has a

proper street look tbh.

renegaderacer - 2013-05-29 06:57

I got my Unisef version about a week ago for about £100 which is about all I'd want to pay for it. It had a few issues but is now all working fine and definately happy with it for the money. The good thing about them being practically empty is they're a doddle to work on. Belt changes without removing the decks anyone?

Giles

ps. they do look cool though!

bison - 2013-05-29 07:32

i got a minter for £70..i reckon i paid top dollar

lav.loo - 2013-05-29 08:53

it's all about personal taste, they defo look the part and tbh my crown sounded pretty good

bison - 2013-05-29 10:01

i had a good look at your lasonic at the meet Docs and decided to leave my unisef in the car..the Lasonics build quality was ten times better.

docs - 2013-05-29 10:06

Hehe yeh. Dont get me wrong I like the Unisef and the Crown but both are nearer a oner than over a twoer. And then theres the original in the Lasonic which is worth every penny.

bison - 2013-05-29 10:12

i like them too and they sound ok but they are way behind the lasonic,i reckon the helix 4636 is a better box than the crown/unisef too.

claret.badger - 2013-05-29 14:21

bison outbid me on the 70 pound one

and it came in the wrap

f**ker

radio.raheem - 2013-05-29 18:48

i like mine....better sounding than a standard gf9000.....i have 2 of each and the uniceff win but there built like shit

nickdoofah - 2013-06-04 16:18

it's got that dreaded shit cassette mechanism too - yuk bloody awful & tape speed so unstable.....

you'd think it was a different manufacturer that made those gorgeous built like a tank portables in the late 70's into the 80's - now they were a dream for me, could never afford one then
