NEED HELP WITH SANYO M9830K

breakbeatfanatik - 2013-06-06 12:40

I posted this a few days ago but i didn't get any feedback. So i will try again. I just won a Sanyo M9830K at auction but seller claims the cassette deck eats tapes. Is this an easy fix? A few cats told me that I would need to do is change the belts.

Also, any good feedback on the acutal box itself? Good sound? Good box in general?

Most of the time its a belt or a rubber tyre... Sometimes a broken gear or a slipping clutch. Just open it up and investigate..

I'd love to help but don't have one of these. But as Michiel says, tape eating is usually belts or a tire. In Sharps it's usually caused by a capstan tyre. Just need to open it up and see, they're normally fairly easy to sort if you're ok with dismantling stuff

Yes, most likely it's an easy fix - because this box have a very simple deck.

In sanyo`s, it`s usually the felt pads, that become shiny over time. This causes loss of torque on the play reel, consequently, the tape gathers up.

Spot on, I've had this a couple of times with Sanyo's.
