My 2nd car boot find!! :)

northerner - 2013-06-15 10:15

Clip
Right on the back of my long awaited first ever car boot find I've just picked up my 2nd!

It's no grail but its the mintiest box I've ever seen, it just looks like new. This is how it came out of the box, I've done nothing to it. Reckon its spent most of the last 30 years in its box...which came with it

Its also got a proper line in so I'm sitting in the garden pumping a bit of Newcleus thro it now   Got a soft touch logic deck that doesn't even need rebelting!

So its no grail but its minty, boxed, fully working, got a line in, and the best bit is that I found it!

Bloody iPhone tells me it didn't upload the post so I do it again now there's two! Ignore this one!!!!

You lucky man!!! here in spain car boot sales are not common

seb968 - 2014-01-07 15:58

Wow Si, thats quite a find; nice little Aiwa in mint condition,  that is a really good stroke of luck!

Right, that's me off to the local car boot this Saturday, bet I won't find a blooming thing. You lucky, lucky b#%¥$€t...

northerner - 2014-01-07 23:41

Yeh I find boxed boomers every week...not! Ha ha. Actually the thread title tells you how infrequently I get any success at car boots. This was my only other car boot find:

http://REPLACEMENT ERROR/topic...g-at-a-car-boot-sale

To be fair I don't go very often or get there very early. Plus the only year round one is crap so the decent ones are only on for half the year.

Its a buzz to find something nice though so worth the effort

Nice little touch si....iv never found anything at a car boot wich Is strange as there must be plenty of boxes out there in people's lofts, sheds etc

Its been stripped and serviced and is all working.  Need to polish the tuner dial etc as its pretty scuffed, just not had time to do it over Christmas and have had man-flu for the last week so couldn't be arsed to do it lol

All I'm missing is the little internal/external speaker knob which isn't essential and new woofers as one is damaged.  I wanted to make sure the cosmetics were up to standard before I spent any money on new speakers but its looking very positive....soon as the polishing is done and I'm happy with it I'll get new woofers.

I am keen for another 9000 power supply and switch for my other 9000 as its still a battery only machine...if this new one wasn't right then I was going to scrap it for the power supply but its definitely no scrapper!

Well done Si!  Was the Misses with you when you bought it? Mine would've slapped the backside of my head....bought I would have bought it regardless

northerner - 2014-01-09 11:14

Ha ha she was there actually, she doesn't mind me picking up a bargain...I just tell her I could make a good profit on it and she's quite keen then. Of course I don't sell it lol but she loses track of what I've got and so I'm fine.
