How good are these? are they quite loud, good quality sound?

Even though its a mono is the sound compareable to any other box?

I love the look of them but they are not cheap.

This box is extremely loud...considering it is not stereo it is worth the penny...although i paid $30.00 for mine  and repaired it myself ...she was well worth it...i actually found it to be louder than my Gf777...go fiqure..

Very funny LAV, it's one of the first jumbo boomboxes I can remember seeing on the streets, possibly as early as '79. From what I can remember, they are quite loud.

Not my cup of tea but she's one of the most sought after boomers out there. Proabably the first big box with big sound.

It is what it is.  It's sound doesn't compete with the big boys for quality and distortion-free volume but for a 2.5w mono it's top of it's league.  Also, let's not forget, it's probably one of the best lookers out there.  Afterall, it's a mono which is always pretty high up on everyone's wish list, so can't be all that bad.  If we collected these things on sound quality alone then we'd all have shelves full of 90's eggs.

there was a time where mono boxes where the style in the 70s to the early 80s my first box was one a sanyo.... the jvc 550 was considered the mother of them all....i remember they use to call it the diablo box back in the day...

yeah it really is great looking
