Marketed no doubt, to students for their bookshelf or bedside table, on office cubicle. Calling it a "boom"box is a stretch.

It's so frustrating that a firm steeped in history of building great machines can make something that has some useful features but like everyone else forgets what it's primary function is supposed to be. Its big enough to sound decent and there is plenty of room inside to separate the speakers. A 30w amp would have cost them only a pound or so more. It's insulting to the buyer and to thier own heritage. If Samsung can make gorgeous mp3 docks that sound great, how can jvc produce tat like this? Samsung will take over the world and good luck to them. They understand what people want then give them more.
